Carbondale, PA — I started with my passion for daylilies when i moved into my first house 27 years ago.
There were daylily clumps in the backyard in the shade which never bloomed. The lady next door informed me that I needed to put them in the sun. So i did and the next year I was rewarded with a double orange flower.
Next thing you know I go to the Phila flower show and discover there's a whole big world of day lilies out there!
So I ordered from a catalogue. Then i discovered there was a day lily grower about an hour away from me. That where I saw them in bloom. Row upon row, a diversity I'd never imagined. I chose two and they were freshly dug for me.
Mary's Gold and Punkin. Well they became School Bus and Punkin. They all have names, my beech was Fergus Riverside and so on and so forth.
I started learning the Latin names as to get what I wanted. And, that was how I did it. Back in the day the labels weren't always correct. Today it's better.
Any how when we moved up here i brought forty of my daylilies with me. Plus some roses and hostas.
Some of the stuff I had you don't see around any more.
Mary's Gold is the most reliable outstanding lily I've ever seen. Last year my two plants had 60 flowers apiece on them. I have to fluff then so all can open.

McMurray, PA — The only drawback to Mary's Gold is I had to stake four scapes. However, getting four scapes on a first year bloom is a nice bonus. The flower is advertised big and beautiful. Mary's Gold is a 10 and a definate keeper.

Goodlettsville, TN — Just bought Mary's Gold last spring, based solely on the description and reviews, and the fact that I can never get enough of the brilliant golds and yellows. Need I say this was not a disappointment? Even in the first season, had generous blooms and they are just as bright as sunshine. Everything to love about this wonderful plant.

Ghent, NY — It has bloomed here in its second year and is just spectacular. It has already multiplied. The scapes are so tall that they reach right up to the clematis growing next door. I was surprized to see such a bright color and it is loaded with buds.

BRANDON, VT — One word describes this daylily. Spectacular!! I probably have at least 50 varities of daylilies in my perennial gardens but Marys Gold is by far my favorite. The flowers are very large and bright. You do not have to look for her as she is a standout. A must have if you like big and bold. Love,Love,Love!!

Missoula, MT — This is a cheerful flower one I'm always asked about. The color is true to the picture.

Ft Worth, TX — I agree with the descriptions.....this flower has to be seen to be believed. I planted it and many others late this past winter...I was out of town last week and returned to find it in bloom yesterday (May 28, 2004). You can see the flowers a mile away, and it is the most brilliant yellow/gold I've ever seen in a flower. A must have, and I'll order several more this fall.

Guyes Mills, PA — I have had this daily only one year but in that year it multiplied well and was just spectacular. It bloomed very well and the height of stem and color of bloom was wonderful. If I could have only a few dailies this would be one of them.
