5 1/2" bloom, 30" tall, Mid Season, Dormant

This is one of those varieties that pictures just don't do justice. One of our favorite dark-colored varieties, we have several clumps planted prominently along a path in our display garden, and it is always among the most admired. Deep black blooms make a great complement to pretty much any other color, we've got it planted by a bright orange (Jersey Spider) which looks great.

Bellaire, OH — The fans I received were large enough to separate into two plants. Although not recommended, that is what I did. They both bloomed this summer, their first in my garden. The color was unbelievably dark, even in full sun. They grew so fast I was able to take a large fan from one and now I have three. I live in low zone 6.
