    Chance Encounter discrepancy

This daylily, Chance Encounter, was featured in today’s email blast. The description block says “Evergreen,” yet the breakout graphic below the description says the foliage type is “Dormant.” I’d like to know which it is, because that is one gorgeous daylily. One way or another (San Antonio, Texas, or Strafford, Missouri), someone in my family needs to have it.

Oh my goodness! Encounter this daylily in your very own garden not by chance! She’s a vibrant, but not overwhelming, shade of rose pink and the contrast against the yellow throat is a sight to behold. She’s my favorite daylily and I have quite the collection. During our growing season, I marvel at other blooms but my true pleasure comes the day that first bud of Chance Encounter bursts open. Sometimes she teases and the first bud opens only part way, but that is likely the fault of our summers in Wisconsin (some days can be quite cool) rather that a fault of the plant. Chance Encounter should never be by chance. Don’t just put this one on your wish list – get it now and enjoy a delight for your eyes!
