    BLUSHING BABY

    Susan Melanson

Sweet blushing baby, touched by fairy dust. I adore this special daylily. One of the very first I bought for my, now, over one-hundred varieties. I love the way the sun brings out the sparkle and glow of this beauty. One of my very favorites in my collection.

    So Reliable

I’ve had these in my yard for 5 years, and they’ve grown like crazy every year. They’ve filled out to form nice large clumps. They are supposed to be a shorter daylily, but mine are more like 2-3 feet tall! And they bloom for so long! This year they started blooming in the first week of July and were still putting out flowers in August.

    Great performer with beautiful color

    Cool Springs, TN

This daylily just glows with its delicate light pink blooms, drawing the eye into the garden. Set against the bolder colors of Frankly Scarlets, Wayside Royale, and Puple d’Oro, it holds its own. Though planted just last year and it’s already given a ton of blooms.

WOW, wow, and wow...so beautiful and strong........

My sister gave me a starter piece and when I saw that first little bloom I was in love. No, it’s not a showy color and I’ll admit it’s not one I would have bought. But, when you see it in person….I don’t know…it’s just beautiful and perfect….I just want to keep staring at it. I then bought two more plants so I could have three in front of my Bella Lagosi’s (deep purple with green throat). They bloom earlier but are still blooming when my Bella’s start.

    Poor Performer

I get few blooms each year. It is in a mixed planting with Siloam Double Classic, which performs well and even rebloomed for me this year, so I know it is not a location or nutritional deficiency.

Lullaby Baby is a winner in every aspect. The delicate color is so beautifully soothing but don’t be fooled – this plant is tough – it survives our Wisconsin winters every year and just gets better and better. I’ve had the pleasure of Lullaby Baby in our garden for over five years and have divided it into several plants which have then thrived and provided more and more pleasure. This Baby matures into lovely plants just like the photos. You can’t possibly have a garden without it!!

This is starting my second year with Lullaby Baby and the first year for it to bloom. It is growing next to ‘Shishedo’ and both have just started to bloom at the same time. Oh my, how pretty these two are together. I could seem them intermingled, the pale pink of Lullaby Baby compliments the pink of ‘Shishedo’ so well. In my garden, both plants have scapes and fans close to the same size with this one’s flowers slightly smaller. Both have thick, strong scapes with lots of buds. I plan to expand the number of this one and invest in some more near whites!

My favorite daylily of all in my garden and always the earliest. Lullaby Baby is in full bloom the first week in March here in the Tampa Bay area. My blooms are 4 to 5 inches wide and a beautiful pale peach color. And, best of all, I can expect a vigorous rebloom.

What a beautiful day-lily this is. The color is so pure and creamy. Lots and lots of blooms the first year. This was sent to me as my bonus plant and I am so glad it was. I love pastel colors and this is definitely a nice one. And it also has a nice light fragrance. What more could you ask for?

I get more requests for divisions of this plant than any other in my daylily garden, I think that tells us something. Mike,Newport RI.

A perfect little darling!!! Always loaded with tons of blooms, perfect ruffled shape with wondrous sparkle and shine!!! Always opens up perfectly, and here they are a pale yummy cream! I have had 2 of these for over 6 years and they are perfect each and every year, getting more and more flowers and it is just perfect in every way!! And even though the flowers are smallish, they are easy to deadhead unlike other smaller ones I have had.

Very cute! This was my bonus plant last year, and is blooming very nicely in ’09. PERFECT flower form! The first couple blooms were more cream, but now definitely a blush peach/pink over cream. Very pretty. Most impressed with how each flower has this perfect form, slightly ruffled, open wide, but not too much so you don’t see each petal. And they hold this form throughout the day. Also, it does sparkle in the sun! Enjoy!

The very first daylilies to bloom in my garden each year – right at the end of spring. And it just keeps getting better as summer takes over. Every year it impresses me with more and more blooms! I received this daylily free at Oakes daylily festival, but it has become one of my all time favorites.

Planted in mid-June last year, we are enjoying the first bloom now. Beautiful plants, lots of flowers! My only negative comment is that the color is more peach than pink in our soil – possibly due to the GA red clay?? It’s a pretty color, just not what I expected.

I planted this daylily in mid-April and it burst profusely into bloom the first week of June. The blossoms are pale salmon-pink, fragrant and sparkle beautifully. I already love this plant!

I received Lullaby Baby as a bonus this year. The blooms look white from a distance. The flowers are very soft pink, a delicate, beautiful bloom. Many scapes. This will certainly be one of my favorite daylilies! Thank You!

This is adorable! It is the sweetest little daylily, with it’s tiny ruffled blooms, and it’s delicate pink blush. If you’re looking for color, this is not for you, but if you want something understated, this is lovely.

You cant go wrong with this sweet lily. I just received it this spring and it has been blooming for the last 3 weeks. Great little one to have in your garden or in a pot to sit on the patio, which is how i have mine now.

I received this plant as an extra this spring and planted it in April I believe. It’s June 19th and Lullaby Baby is blooming!!!! The plant is only about 4″ high and it has a large bloom with two more to come. I’m very impressed. Thank you Oakes for another great plant.

The ruffled form of this gorgeous daylily is its best trait. It is very dainty. My only criticism is the color. It is white in Kentucky not pink. But it is still very lovely.

I have had this plant for many years, and it is one of my favorites. It’s such a sweet and gentle pink. When a relative lost an infant, I gave a Lullaby Baby for them to plant at the gravesite.

I planted these in November and they are blooming already in February. They are very pretty. A little off white in color. I wish they had more pink blush in them.
