Mary’s Gold Daylily Features:
‘Marys Gold’ daylily is a true classic. A common comment in its many reviews (be sure to check ’em out!) is that it is much more beautiful in person. It’s true: a brilliant gold, pictures can’t do this beautiful flower justice. Always one of our most popular varieties due to its beauty and reliable bloom.
Huge 6 1/2″ bright gold blooms are held on tall scapes close to 3′ in our East Tennessee garden. No way you can ignore these! A mid-season bloomer, we typically see Mary’s Gold in mid June here on our zone 7 farm. If you are to the north of us, you can expect to see it bloom a bit later. Those of you to our south will see it a couple weeks before we do.
A dormant daylily, Mary’s Gold performs best in planting zones that get a sustained cold period in the winter.
Brilliant gold blooms are gorgeous en masse but also look stunning when planted with lavender or dark purple. When planted with near white daylilies it looks so elegant. Plant it with red, orange or hot pink if you want to add some extra spice to your summer garden. You cannot go wrong with Mary’s Gold!
Winner of the Award of Merit and the Lenington All American Award.

WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.
