‘Moses’ Fire’ daylily is an outstanding double. There aren’t many red double daylilies but that’s okay— with this beauty in your garden, you won’t need any other!  Sizzling bright red blooms are about 6″ in diameter and have a thin gold wire edge. A midseason daylily, we first begin to see the brilliant red double blooms of Moses’ Fire in mid June. If you are to our north, you’ll see them a couple of weeks after us. If you live to our south, you’ll see them a few weeks before we do. Good rebloom means you’ll see these gorgeous blooms off and on throughout the season.

HOW TO GROW DAYLILIES: Daylilies are very easy-to-grow. They like a lot of sun and they like a lot of water. For more information on how to care for daylilies, click here.
WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.

BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!

FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

ABOUT US: Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that’s been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

  2. Gorgeous blooms

    Mary Cookson

The flowers are really beautiful! They light up their corner of my garden and look really fabulous with my apricot roses.

This daylily also seems to increase very quickly, and I’m going to need to divide them soon.

  3. Stunning Red Double

    Janet (verified owner)

I planted a small plot of red double daylilies last year. With it’s big blooms and thin yellow-gold line tracing the petals, it makes a stunning statement! No rebloom this year, but this beautiful flower and sturdy plant is growing well and promises more blooms in coming years.

I have had Moses Fire for two years. When I saw it at the 2017 Festival, it said “take me home!” I am amaze at how large and full the double blooms are. The blooms are so striking. It is a must for the double daylily lover.

  6. Favorite variety!

    Tim Clark (verified owner)

I have well over 100 daylilies and Moses Fire is my favorite one! I saw it at the festival when it was in their display garden. I knew I would one day have it, and now I have three. I have them in a special spot, and they never disappoint. Big, completely double, and tons of blooms without fail. If you can only buy one daylily, this should be the one!
