Small rose-pink blooms are around 3 3/4″ on short 16″ scapes in our East Tennessee garden. A perfect choice for the front of the garden border or as a container planting. This extra-early bloomer first appears for us here in zone 7 in late May.  If you are to the north of us, you can expect to see them a bit later. If you are to the south of us, you’ll likely see them a couple of weeks before we do. Fantastic rebloom allows us to see these charming blooms off and on throughout the season. A light fragrance only adds to this already outstanding daylily.

Rosy Returns is a dormant variety which means it can grow in any planting zone that receives a sustained cold period in the winter.

HOW TO GROW DAYLILIES: Daylilies are very easy-to-grow. They like a lot of sun and they like a lot of water. For more information on how to care for daylilies, click here.
WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.

BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!

FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

ABOUT US: Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that’s been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

The rosy color goes so well with the true pinks and light yellows of my tall lilies. Rosy Returns has a wonderful compact habit and planted in front of the talls, serves to ground the eye and complete a picture. I love the size of the plant and the blooms. NE PA

This is a beautiful daylily – short but has the perfect size flowers for its height. The color of my rosy return is exactly like the picture. I was a little concerned it would be a “rusty pink color” another reviewer mentioned; that hasn’t been my experience. It is in part shade so maybe that has something to do with it. One thing for sure, it’s a survivor. Thanks to my husband it’s been stepped on, flattened by a box, trampled by lawn equipment – still bloomed beautifully for its first season.

Sioux Falls, SD – This is the most amazing daylily ever! Once it starts blooming, it doesn’t stop until we get freezing temps. It continuously sends up new flowers!

Better than a 10! Rosy Returns delivers it all with huge blooms that are unusually large for a everbloomer, breathtaking color and consistant bloom cycles. It doen’t get much better than this.

Rosy Returns is a wonderful, everblooming daylily. Some everbloomers flower in waves. Rosy Returns seems to send up a continuous stream of new scapes, so that plants seem to be nearly always in bloom. The flowers are lovely, a dark rose in our Zone 5b/6a garden, and appear larger than the size indicated, possibly because they open relatively flat. We have planted several pink everbloomers in the last couple years and Rosy Returns is my favorite. It blooms steadily for us from early July through early November. Like with other everbloomers, for best results, it is important to fertilize regularly.
