HOW TO GROW DAYLILIES: Daylilies are very easy-to-grow. They like a lot of sun and they like a lot of water. For more information on how to care for daylilies, click here.
WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.

BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!

FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

ABOUT US: Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that’s been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

  1. Blooms all season!

This daylily has really surprised me by quickly becoming one of my favorites. It’s blooms are only small but there are so many of them, and whilst other varieties have bloomed and faded, this one keeps going. I honestly had blooms on this all summer from May to August. Very impressive! I am in Zone 7A – Southeast Missouri and these are against a southwest facing wall.

  2. Dark red eyes steal the show.

    lazzins (verified owner)

It’s short foliage about 12 inches high makes it a perfect front border but the blooms are a stunning over 2 feet high, gorgeous yellow and then there are those dark red eyes!! Planted by Red Volunteer. A perfect match. Zone 6B in PA. end of September and still blooming.

I have had this little cutie in my garden for many, many years. It is my only tiny flower but when it is loaded with blooms it stands out. It’s small size reminds me of tiny bumble bees in the garden. A great plant. Zone 3 Minnesota

  5. Perfect daylily

    Robert Tucker (verified owner)

Ordered in April and now in June all are blooming and are real beauties. I have them in front and they stand out. The fans I received were huge and the reason I already have plants loaded with blooms.

  6. Bright Beauty

    Jennifer Mcerlean (verified owner)

I love this little daylily! It is so bright. The yellow is a darker yellow and just pops out in my garden. Even though it’s a tiny bloom you can spot it from far away. I live in Long Island zone 7 and it blooms like crazy. I got it many years ago as a bonus daylily and I’m so glad I did!

  7. Great color!

    Patricia Pflaumer

They were planted late last season, so this is the first time flowering. Very happy with them! The tiny blossoms are bold gold and the contrasting dark eye is really captivating. Although small, they catch your attention in the garden.

Planted at the front of my raised bed and they are lovely. Planted last Fall and I have a nice hardy clump already. A joy to see each day.

A real beauty in a smaller plant. I get dozens of blooms daily per plant, so many that deadheading takes practically forever. The lovely yellow is off set nicely by the deep red throat. I have mine in the front of a huge raised daylily bed and they make a great border. It’s hard to pass by without stopping and admiring these little champs.

This Siloam has done very well for me. I have it near an elm tree, and it looks bigger and better each year!

Sweet little yellow with a small “black” eye! The only thing wrong with this little gem is I didn’t get enough blooms! Maybe it will produce more and rebloom when it settles into the neighborhood!

In our garden we love the eyed daylilies; and the Siloam series seem to do well in our zone 6.5. Siloam June Bug is outstanding with the vivid gold and dark red eye that is sure to grab your attention. Seeing several blooms of this beauty will convince anyone that this mini is a ‘must have’ for the garden.

Not a good bloomer but a great one ,and this one was a free one when I was there last year. Look for me this year with a lot more money. Saving now – lol.

A delightful miniature with bright yellow petals and a maroon eye. This variety is outstanding in many ways but my favorite is it has a tendancy to open its blooms on the evening before the day it should open.
