6″ bloom, 32″ tall, Mid-Late Season, Dormant

The color of this spider variant has been called everything from antique ruby to reddish-chocolate. A unique color for a daylily, this mid-sized beauty easily stands out among the brighter, more expected colors of summer flowers and always receives raves from our garden visitors.

I have had this daylily for several years, planted among tall spiders in a somewhat dappled area with morning sun only. It is a different color for me – the color is so deep there that its hard to call it red – its more of a reddish chocolate – and I adore it. Everyone notices it first thing of my hundreds of daylilies. Glad I finally figured it out because it has been a one scape daylily in that spot – and I love it just like it is – nestled among the “Easy Ned”. But I couldn’t identify it until today. I’ll be ordering more! Would give it a 10 if it would just be more prolific for me.
